Aurora Shoe Company was founded in the early 1990s in Aurora, a small town nestled in upstate New York near Cayuga Lake. From the beginning, the brand’s philosophy has centered on simplicity, durability, and integrity—values that are deeply reflected in both their products and production methods. Inspired by traditional footwear design and guided by a respect for natural materials, Aurora crafts each pair of shoes entirely by hand in their small workshop.

Their shoes are made using full-grain Horween leather, one of the oldest and most respected tanneries in the U.S., paired with Vibram soles for comfort and longevity. The designs—such as the Middle English and New Mexican styles—are characterized by soft, rounded toes, minimal detailing, and a functional, timeless appeal.
