Founded in 1921, the Hario company began their history as a manufacturer of laboratory glassware, expanding their production to household items in 1964, starting with the coffee syphon. 16 years later the company started producing lenses for automotive headlights in 1980. Today, Hario continues to make a variety of items, from microwave-safe kitchenware and coffee and tea implements to aromatherapy and pet products. Hario has been dedicated to the design, production, and sale of heatproof glass since it was founded in 1921 and is the only heatproof glass manufacturer in Japan to have a factory. Originally known as a company that designs and manufactures glassware products, Hario, which directly translates to ‘Glass King’ has now evolved to become a leading coffee brand, thanks to the Hario V60 coffee brewer. The company has been producing high-quality tea and coffee products since their pivoting success of their flagship brewer.
